The story behind MTT
The road to building a travel app, alone — and not so alone.
A note from the founder, for anyone who's ever come home from a long trip and felt the urge to keep it somewhere it wouldn't fade.
Every solo traveler hits the same wall around the third country: where do I keep all of this — not just the photos, but the people, the wrong turns, the strangers who became friends? My Travel Tracker is the answer I always wanted and never found.
A traveler before a founder
Born in Australia, raised in the South of France, Dutch roots underneath it all. I left home at eighteen with a backpack and a one-way ticket — and twenty-something countries later, I haven't really stopped. Travel has been my classroom and most of my friendships.
The idea was born in Sri Lanka
The idea came to me while I was traveling Sri Lanka — I wanted a simple way to document every place I went, so I could easily share it with the next traveler. No app did that, so I built one: I came home, taught myself UI/UX, found three brilliant developers, and shipped MTT.
A new chapter — joining Pangea
My Travel Tracker has found a bigger home. I've joined forces with Pangea — a team chasing the same dream MTT was built on: helping travelers share real plans, real recommendations and real stories, at a scale a solo founder simply can't reach alone. Bringing our 26,000 travelers into that community felt less like an ending and more like the next leg of the trip.
These days I'm pouring that same energy into Feravox — a wildlife education app with 4,000+ species, endless facts and sounds, conservation status for every animal, and links to help the NGOs protecting them. Same compass, different corner of the planet. If you'd like to follow what I'm building next, follow us on Instagram!
